[02.09 17:36] The 148 kilometer relatively short stage of the Vuelta a Espana from Caravaca del la Cruz and Murcia was off to a peaceful and traditional start as Markus Eichler (Team Milram), Juan Javier Estrada Ruiz (Andalucia-Cajasur) og Freddy Bichot (Bbox Bouygues Telecom) leaped away leaving the peloton on the chase. 20 kilometers from the finish line, the peloton was challenged by a category 2 climb which put an end to the breakaway.
